A Tribute on the 80th Milestone: Ayya Jagadeesan – An Icon of Self-Respect and Selfless Sacrifices!
The 80th birth anniversary of Ayya Jagadeesan is a moment of immense pride and celebration. He embodies the golden words of the revolutionary poet Bharathidasan, "A fruit ripened through lifelong service," and stands as the strength behind our beloved Akka, Subbulakshmi, whose name is forever etched in the hearts of Eelam Tamils.
The greatest lessons the Dravidian movement has taught us are self-respect and unapologetic love for one's identity. Ayya Jagadeesan has lived every breath of his life rooted in these core principles. Social justice, the liberation of the oppressed, and, above all, an unalterable, profound love for his umbilical relations — the Eelam Tamils — form the cornerstone of his life. He has nurtured his family with the ancient Tamil virtue of universal brotherhood (Yadhum Oore Yavarum Kelir) and the Dravidian egalitarian ideal of equality for all.
The family of Ayya Jagadeesan holds a deep-rooted devotion, affection, and monumental respect for our National Leader, Hon. Velupillai Prabhakaran, and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Carrying the memories and the fiery conviction of the Maaveerar (martyrs) who fought for the dawn of the Tamil nation, this family continues to hold high the sacred dream — that Eelam Tamils must live a life of absolute freedom, free from oppression, in a sovereign homeland of their own.
Standing by an oppressed nation when it faces annihilation is the ultimate form of human righteousness. Throughout the tumultuous history of the Tamil Eelam liberation struggle, despite facing countless threats, challenges, and systemic pressures, Ayya Jagadeesan's family remained an unyielding pillar of support. Refusing to bow down to oppressive state forces, Ayya stood rock-solid on the side of justice and liberation. The immense sacrifices made by his family are permanently etched as golden inscriptions in the history of our liberation movement.
O Pillar of Ideological Fortitude, who has crossed eighty winters yet retains the same sharp political clarity and undying love for the Tamil nation!
Your sharp Dravidian rationalist thinking, inspired by Periyar and Anna, combined with your moral conviction toward the National Leader's supreme struggle, serves as a guiding lighthouse for the next generation. On behalf of the Tamil nation and the working-class movement, we wholeheartedly wish that you live many more years in robust health and peace, alongside Akka Subbulakshmi and your loving family, to continue guiding us forward.
Long live the ideological path of Ayya Jagadeesan!
May the revolution triumph! May the dream of the Tamil Eelam homeland come true!
